男子日本代表は、4月13日に苫小牧のナショナル・トレーニング・センターでチームミーティングを行い、氷上練習を開始しました。

ミーティングでは、世界選手権に向けた準備と、大会へ臨むうえで必要となるメンタル面に焦点を当てて話し合いました。選手選考においては、高いレベルで戦えることに加え、フィジカルコンタクトの激しい局面でも競争力を発揮できる選手を選出しました。選手たちには、「プロセスを信じ、自分自身を信じて、大会開幕時に最高の状態を迎えよう」と伝えました。

練習では、スピードと最大限の努力を重視し、選手たちは高いエネルギーと規律を持って取り組んでくれました。対戦相手を見据えながら、チームシステムの確認と必要な修正を進めました。また、メンバー全員と個別ミーティングを行い、それぞれの役割や期待について話し合いました。

東京と新横浜で韓国代表と試合を行えたことは、チームにとって非常に有意義な機会となりました。コーチ陣にとっては、選手たちのプレーを確認し、改善点を伝える貴重な機会となりました。また、この大会は選手、家族、そしてファンの皆様にとっても大きな喜びと誇りを感じられるイベントだったと思います。日本で、これほど素晴らしい声援の中でプレーできたことを、チーム一同大変光栄に感じています。

2試合とも非常によく運営された素晴らしい試合であり、両チームが最後まで全力を尽くした、手応えのあるゲームでした。日本アイスホッケー連盟、大会関係者の皆様、そして会場で日本代表を応援してくださったファンの皆様に、心より感謝申し上げます。皆様の応援のおかげで、メンバー全員が日本代表のユニフォームを身に纏うことに大きな誇りを持つことができました。

2026世界選手権では、目標としていた結果を得ることはできませんでした。ハイレベルな国際大会ではさまざまな要因が結果に影響しますが、今後スタッフ間でしっかりと検証を行い、改善すべき点に取り組んでまいります。

しかしながら、この大会に向けて懸命に準備を重ねた選手・スタッフを誇りに思っています。今回感じた悔しさを糧に、私たちはさらに成長し、強くなっていきます。

将来に向けて大きな期待を感じている理由のひとつは、若い選手たちが着実に経験を積み、チーム全体のレベルが継続的に向上していることです。夏季強化合宿をはじめとして、すべての選手の評価と強化を継続し、男子日本代表を継続的に高い成果を残せるチームへと成長させていきます。

【English Original】
Preparation began on April 13th in Tomakomai, Japan at the NTC Training Facility with a Team Meeting followed by an on-ice practice.

The focal point of the meeting was to discuss preparation for the upcoming tournament along with the mental mindset we needed to have moving forward. We selected players that we felt could compete at a high level and have an elevated level of compete in the more physical areas of the game. We asked the players to trust the process and to trust themselves and prepare to be their best when the tournament starts.

Practice sessions were well organized with an emphasis on speed and executing at maximum effort which the players did with energy and discipline. Many areas of our system were reviewed and implemented while making any adjustments we felt were required knowing our upcoming competition. Individual meetings were held with all Members to discuss expectations and roles within the Team.

Having the opportunity to play Korea in Tokyo and Shin Yokohama from a competitive standpoint was very beneficial to the Team in our preparation. Coaches were able to review and teach players about their performances and make any corrections that needed to be addressed in their game. From a standpoint of excitement and pride, this was a great event for our Players, Families and Fans. As a Team we were all honoured to be able to perform in Japan in front of such great support.

The two games were very well organized and both teams demonstrated full effort with exciting games. Thank you to the JIHF, Organisers and especially the Fans who came to support our National Team which made all Members very proud to wear the Jersey.

We did not achieve the result we were looking for in the 2026 World Championships. Many factors played into this equation which happen at a high level competition but it is something that will be reviewed and discussed amongst the Staff moving forward to address any areas that need improvement.

I am proud of the Players and Staff who gave a great effort in preparing for this Championship. The disappointment we all felt is something that we will learn from and become better and stronger.

The excitement for the future is based on the experience our younger players are gaining and the talent level that is being developed that is continually improving the program. Evaluations on all Players will continue as we move into our Summer Program and continue to build the Men's National Team into a consistent high achieving team.

日本代表を応援していただいた皆様、そして世界選手権にあたり多大なるご支援をいただいた皆様、本当にありがとうございました。

日韓代表戦では、会場の運営・設営をしていただき、僕たち選手は最高の環境でプレーすることができました。改めて御礼申し上げます。

今世界選手権は降格という結果となり、ファンの皆さんの期待に応えることができず、大変申し訳なく思っています。

選手一同、今大会の悔しさをしっかりと受け止め、来年の大会に向けてそれぞれがレベルアップして再び集まろうと話しました。

また、日本アイスホッケー発展のためにも、必ず一年でディビジョンIAに戻って戦います。
